The Standing order is code of conduct. It has dos and donts of employee work.
Service code is mainly used in factroies to apply for particular job code.

Standing orders is normally prevailing in Industries and it is governed by stautes i.e Industrial Standing Orders Act. Standing orders is a mandatory if the industry has more than 100 employees and it should be approved by the Joint Commissioner of Labour(JCL) in nthe presence of Union representatives( if Union is present) Any amendments to the approved standing orders cannot be made without approval from JCL. In the case of service Code it is purely an internal affair need not be approved and it may extend to an exclusive sect of employees who dont come under the above said standing orders.

Hi All,
For how many days employee is eligible for earned leave as per Shops & Establishments Act?
Can number of leave days be reduced? We have
PL - 20 days
SL - 5 days
CL - 7 days
as per current leave policy. Our company is thinking to reduce total number of leave days
from 32 (20+7+5) to 21 days. There will not be any bifurcation as PL/SL/CL. Is it allowed to reduce the number of days?
Please share your views.
Regards,
Shilpa

Hello,
what my perception says,is that,Standing orders have authenticity of law. Therefore any in-house made service code/rules would not govern upon the standing orders then in that case a civil suit can be filed for damages as per the rules of in house services rules or invidual appointment letter.
