Bad elements & rowdys are frequently interrupting the organization's functioning even though they are in no way connected with the matters. Even for a local leaders death or arrest, these elemnts targetting the industries and organizations as the prime target. They are breaking glasses, forcibly closing down the shutters, manhandling employees and securities.
How to tackle this as a HR incharge of an organization? Calling police are also not useful at times. Hope the forum will give some tips on handling these situations.
Regards,
Shriram.

I agree with Mr. Ashok, you first have to look into the matter deeply and ask their demands so that they feel that their problem has been discussed for solution then put it in front of your higher management for further decisions.

Hi,
At times such ruckus creating elements may cause serious damage to the organization. In my views it is necessary for the HR to be proactive in order to make sure nothing of that sort leaves organization in a state of complete ramshackle.Security of the staff and the premises should be of prime importance during such critical times. Its ok to suggest to listen to the demands of these elements but then the talks can only be held in a peaceful milieu. To create such an environment things should be brought under control even if it calls for taking the help of the police because its trained for such situations. So i think calling police is really not a bad idea from preventing such elements to create havoc allover.

Dear Friend,
It is necessary to find out the reason for the behaviour of bad elements.
Discuss with their representative and find out the reason for their behaviour.
Before discussing with bad elements, discuss with your higher officials and get their views about handling this situation.
After discussions, immediately give a feed back to the Management about their demands. Again discuss with top officials in your organisation. If needed, go legally.
With kind regards

Dear friend,
First of all find out why they are doing it?
What are their demands?
Then try to talk to them (there may be level headed people in the group) and then try to settle the issue!!
Better bend the issue and not break it!!!

Friend, In most of the cases the HR staff will be made scape goat for all this incidences. In the big companies this type of problems are dealt by Admin Manager. But HR is over all responsibile to look after the Welfare of his emplloyees. The best way to hire one legal advisor on requirement basis and the deal the situation tackfully wihout breaking your head and the legal advice sought from legal advicer is to be submitted to the Management for further necessary action.
