Dear Abhi,
Good morning,
Incentives can be divided into two parts
1. Straight Incentives
2. Variable Incentives
Under Straight incentives the incentives a person earns depend upon the volume of sales he generates and also for consistent and repetitive sales
Under Variable incentives the incentives a person earns depend upon the new clients or accounts or selling a particular product in a desired quantity at certain value, the sales person generates. The amount earned under this particular scheme can fluctuate and may vary from month to month
The incentives has to be also paid for consistent sales and not just for achieving set sales target
Be clear about who is eligible for sales compensation. Try to reserve sales compensation for those that have customer contact and are responsible for persuading the customer to act. Everyone else can (or may) participate in a reward program – but not sales compensation, to understand who is eligible for sales incentives or not following 4 questions have to be analyzed
1. Who is the customer
2. Where is the process taking place
3. When (how often) is the employee interacting with the customer?
4. Why are customers interacting with the employee
Sales support jobs are generally not active participants in closing sales, but their technical or functional expertise may be needed in order to persuade the customer, to retain the customer, and to expand business with the customer. The decision to include these positions in the sales compensation plan depends on company culture, management philosophies, and compensation policies.
Rewards and recognition is different from Sales Incentive plans
The various forms awards and recognition of employee for his/her consistent and zero error process/operational performances are
• Gift Vouchers
• Certificate
• Trophy
• Paid leave over and above normal paid leaves
• Gift items
