Hello Professionals, In my opinion any HR tool which can be applied at individual level or a group level (group could be cross-functional, or functionally focussed and/or could be within-the-function sub-groups), applied across the organization with organizationwide focus becomes "OD intervention". Accordingly surveys conducted for the purpose to choose what kind of intervention is necessary. They can be called "OD intervention surveys" depending on size and focus. It is like a "pilot project" in research or social interventions "test marketing" in Marketing or "prototype" in Engineering and experience and expertise associated with such exercise being tested or introduced to address larger issues with wider implication and addressing the whole - in this case organization. e.g. "Firo-B can be an indvidual tool or OD intervention tool".
OD exercise being wider in scope and objective, intervention can be of (a) multi tools to validate/test one aspect, and/or (b) many tools to validate/test a group of aspects.
For choosing aspects - one may follow brain storming tool at core group level and ABC analysis to choose key aspects/factors/objectives or a set of them for OD intervention. Like any other exercise there will be a group formed (like stearing committee - nominclature can be many or different - who enjoy vision, objective, authority and responsibility for OD intervention exercise).
