Hi Sophiya,
Good stuff to work on, what might be the objective of such question ??
Iam sure no one can give a perfect answer, infact there is no perfect answer to such question, It has more to do with Situational Analysis and Emotional Balance. I believe they are trying to test the leadership style, logical thinking, emotional stability and more importantly personality of candidate under stress. Iam not giving any answer rather I want to try to analyze different answers -
When ever such question is posed, try to fit ourselves in each character. So that we can get varied ideas. For this situation, possible answer to first question -
1) The husband may be get angry on wife for not doing as he suggested. The probability is very high as he is disappointed at loss of his sweet little son. And he knows the reason - wife not taking the remedial step intime. - But that's an autocratic leadership.
2) Is that the reason of accident ??? Yes partially. What is the actual cause of such tragedy happening. The wife is been responsible to situation because husband has not taken up his responsibility. So how can he blame her for the fault, is he acted to avoid such tragedy, No he simply escaped from situation.
Inspite of reasons that he is getting late for Office, that's not justification to ignore the bottle. So major fault lies with husband in my understanding. Therefore, once he reached hospital, he would be blaming himself rather than blaming wife for that.
Moral of the story - Act when its necessary. No one can skip from responsibility by passing the same to your partners/team. You'll still be accountable for consequences.
Hope I addressed your query, Iet's look forward for more analysis from our friends.. Regards Rajul
