Dear fellow colleagues,
It is quite intriquing to explore what actually is HRM. It varies from the broad spectrum of individual related issues like motivation, stress, interpersonal conflicts etc to broader group level/culture related issues and then the practices like compensation or DRM or performance appraisal which is more technical to the strategic level decision making stuff. Though they are very much interrelated, we actually dont link them up together. For most of the guys who are even in MBA schools, HR is just managing human relations. Even that is reflected in the kind of profile of people that are expected to be in HRM. It is seen more as a common sensical profession than what needs core business knowledge and professional expertise....is it true? Regards vijay
