I personally feel HR has come out well with respect to Manufacturing sector too....
With employee suggestion schemes, recognition policies, health and safety measure initiatives even sabbatical being more prevalant in this industry HR has a major role to play.
Even bringing in Quality Circles, Teamwork, HR & Six Sigma.....HR has got a major role to play. Traditionally yes, HR was more of a POLICY POLICE & ADMINISTRATION. But, HR has a major say in manufacturing sector....
