In-House Magazine : From HR's View
HI group
We are in the midst of finalising on a (refurbished) bi-monthly in-house magazine.
From HR point of view - other than the info on :- i) introduction of new recruits and best wishes to those who have left, ii) Training programmes conducted and those which would be conducted in the next couple of months
What other info could be incorporated? Any suggestions?
We plan to close on this, by the week end - hence request an early revert!! Thanks Ankur

Re: In-House Magazine : From HR's View
Hi Ankur, You could include poems or short stories wrriten by kids of employees, new ventures of the company, achievements of the month. You could also add puzzles, quiz, one write up from senior manager (you could keep it on rotational basis) recent ocassions in the company and not to forget general articles which would convey some message to all ( it could be a social message too!) And if you wish to keep it only H.R related magazine then articles on team, leadership could be taken into account. That's all from my side. Hope it does prove to be of some help to you. Best Wishes Shalz

Re: In-House Magazine : From HR's View
Umm i dont know if my view point is meant to be a reply to the original question posted way back on 23 /4/ 2007, but here it is any ways for others and as contribution to the topic, if not the original poster.
AN in house magazine should basically not be intended for the reception desk item for all to look at , smile and throw it back to the corner where it usually lands up.
instead ALSO adopt serious issue insertions of :-
1) Senior Management's comments on existing team, Good or bad both
2) Welcoming new joinees all across the organization ( multi locations) with their background ,comments
3) future growth of organization versus current step by step plan of growth and versus this where the organization is today
4) some fun offers for employees and their families
5) a little general knowledge /training/selfdevelopment articles.
This is all i could advice on
Best Wishes

Re: In-House Magazine : From HR's View
Hello Group, I've have the same problem in my company too. We have an in-house magazine since a few years, but my superiors keep asking me and the editorial team to improve the quality of the magazine. We were doing our best actually! I used to keep coming to this site for reference, and see that this post is only updated now and then. But I used to find good articles on the web to create an in-house magazine.
I am not a regular poster in forums (please don't say i'm selfish)but I found some good information that I am sure group mates will like. Last week, I found out about an Indian author who gives excellent tips on in-house magazines and other media things... But the information about magazines were very good. You should check the link out.
www.confettimedia.in/custommediaindia
Apparently, there are companies that do in-house magazines and they are called custom media houses. Confetti Media website is one I saw. And they are giving all good information for free! Hope I was of help to my group friends.
