Hello Friends,

The most effected companies are the s/w firms becoz of the slowdown. And a good no of companies are laying off its people across the globe.

If you people could share some of the info:

1. Are these firms (which are usually m/national) reducing its staff in India operations or in rest of the countries. (My understanding to this is - India being a low cost market is usually effected last as the impact of the salaries etc is not phenomenal)

2. Also its not taken in the right spirit. They not only have to reduce staff but cope up with the cultural impact it usually has on the brand.

3. What kind of benefits are usually given?

4. Is it linked to base or gross?

5. Is it usually 3/4 months montly take home or as huge as 1 year take home or gross?

6. Was last performance is taken into account, no of yrs of exp and yrs spent within the co are deciding factors or a band was created.

Please let me know if any of you guys are involved in such a process and how did you go about doing it.

Regards

bijoy
