Dear All,
We would like to introduce an asset building Scheme for our employees. Under this scheme employees (Managers & Above) will be offered a laptop computer on 50% market cost and the computer will be written of in the employees name after two years of service
I request all of you for your inputs for this scheme. Like to know your comments on various aspect of this scheme like what is the depreciation rate for computers, what should be ideal terms and conditions and eligibility for offering this scheme. After how much time this computer can be written of in the name of employee etc.
Also request you if you have similar scheme kindly share with me.

Thats interesting.
1. If laptop is Job-need, it should come as part of the Job-Infrastructure. (Many employers have realised that giving Laptop to more and more employees makes sense than providing desktop)
2. If its not a Job-need then are you planning to give it to all who are interested?
My employers provides Laptops to employees purely on job-need basis. Its a company assets and employee has to surrender it on separation.

Certain level of employees in our organisation are offered a similar package i.e. they can purchase any furnishing / appliance upto a certian amount in a year. We, however, offer to re-purchase the asset from the emplyee on the w.d.v. after 3 years. Ruchi |
