Hello Friends,

A query from one of my friends led me to put this up to the group.

He had been through an interview process wherein there was a lot of emphasis on Out of the box thinking. I wasn't too clear on some of the aspects & hence throwing this open to the forum.

I am given to understand that OBT questions helps in analysis of a candidate's spontaneity, logical reasoning, ability to think beyond immediate vicinity etc. Am I right in thinking so ? What are the other critical attributes / competencies we intend to assess by
using OBT Techniques ?

Normally at what levels or functions of recruitment do we intend to use such process ?

I'd appreciate if you could share some inputs on OBT, what are the kinds of hypothetical questions that are thrown about?

Also, how should the candidate ideally respond ... I mean, what is it that we are looking at the candidate to be responding ....? I believe there are no right or wrong answers to the questions that gets asked ..... so, what do we expect from candidate ?

In case anyone has any OBT questions, please do share it.

Thanks & regards,

Ankur Shah
