Hello All,
I have always been intrigued by this question and have found answers but I would like to know what practitioner of HR have to say to my query.
What is the difference between Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development ? Thanks in advance Sonia

HRM basically attempts to creat a generalist role includng all functions from Recruitmant to termination (Which incl. T & D As well)
But HRD rather means that 1. Performance Mgt. 2. T & D 3. Career Development
But in some cases these two terms are overlapping.

Hi, HRD is a proactive concept, which underlines the very belief that human talent is the most imp resource of any organization and therefore there has to be a commitment for the development of the same on a continuous basis
Whereas HRM is more a reactionary concept, it stops only at management of the talent pool. rajasekar
