In most corporates, today we have the phenomenon that subordinates are openly drinking at pubs with their bosses, calling them by their first name, and openly discussing things with each other like they are peers and not boss subordinate. The ICE age (Internet, Communications and the Entertainment) has been the prime motivator for this sort of phenomenon. Yet, there are certain things that a Boss is duty bound to do, like play God to his subordinates once in a while, etc. A Boss may or may not be a good leader, but the subordinates certainly have many expectations from him, no one expects a boss to stand up for an undeserving subordinate, but when the subordinate is good, and yet there are issues with the senior management, then the immediate Boss has to play God, many a times the subordinate may not know that the Boss is playing God, and may instead bequeath him with the choicest abuses. THE BURNING HUT AND THE MESSAGE BEHIND IT.
The only survivor of a shipwreck washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stung with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied. Never forget that BLESSINGS do come in disguise!!!
