Dear All,

I'm working in HR in a pharma company. One of my friend in Textile Industry needed information on Job analysis i.e. how can it be done for a sales team including their manager. Can anyone help please.

Job Analysis for Sales team-

It is done in line with the job description for that position. 

Job analysis tells you about the necessary skills, output, responsibilities & sequence of task involed in that...

For sales person it can be include things like -

* Scale of Sales Targets for that position (in line with Business Targets)

* Factors like customer (dealer/distributor) credits, accounts, reconciliation, Performance/potential evaluation of customer

* Skills like - Communication skills, ability to understand financial know hows, presentation skills,  business acumen, technical know hows, product knowledge, negotiation skills

* Achievement of concrete targets etc

Yes wht cherry has mentioned is correct...what i would like to add to that is first, one needs to identify - what is the objective of doing job analysis - e.g. for Human Resource Planning,Recruitment&Selection,T&D,Job Evaluation,Remmuneration,Perf App...and accordingly use methods /approach to asses the competencies required for that saleman position to execute the required output.
