Is SSN mandatory for PF withdrawal ?

Hi everyone,

I would be grateful if anyone could kindly tell me: Its been more than 3 months since I filed SSN form at my previous employer and now that I have left the company, I would be filing my PF docs: would I have to actually wait till the relevant authority issues me a SSN and sends by mail the SSN card OR it wont pose a problem and I can get the amount due to me as PF transferred to my bank?
