linking the consumer price index with the salaries

Hi,

I was working on a project on cpi and its relation to the salaries and i happen to be stuck .......

i would like to know if there is a formula that would link the consumer price index to the salaries......

what would be the benchmarks to be considered while revising salaries

what would be the ideal market indication of salaries for a particuler level.
