Dear All,

My company has recently created a competency model, with the help of some consultants.

But the time has come for us to take ownership of the model and proceed without the help of the Consultant.

We are looking at deploying it and were wondering how it should be done to create excitement around the top level management and how to ensure that this excitement cascades down?

All those who are currently working on a competency model, comeptency mapping, deploying a new model, or have a model up and running within the company please let me know your ideas and views about the deployment and the timeline it should follow.

I would really appreciate it if you replied at the earliest. It will simplify matters a lot to learn from your experience

Can you tell us the understanding behind creating the competency model? What was the situation / status before the model was created? What issues were the competency model supposed to address?

Based on this then we can help you create the excitement factor.

Very interesting situation. Before you take ownership,one issue you may want to work out is :do people know what it is all about.So has there been a training session-was it a collective approach to documenting? Step two is to allay fears-what happens to me if I don't have a competency that this doc says is very essential? so are intervention processes in place?
