Query - PF deduction during leave without pay

Hi All,

I would like to put across this query of mine to get the confirmed clarity, that do we deduct PF for employee when he/she is on leave without pay duration say for a duration of min. 2-3 months due to personal or health reasons, as per my knowledge, no PF deduction would take place, please correct me if am wrong.

Hi Jyoti Rani,

You are 100% correct.  Since the employee is not paid any kind of salary and DA etc. /remuneration because of LWP (Leave without pay) deduction of PF is not

mandatory.
