Hai,

i am working in CRO company, Till now we dont have any leave policy. i need to impliment leave policy for our employee,. can pls help me in this.

How many CL,PL,SL as per factories act?

Hello, Its good if you are going to adopt leave policy.I am sure it ll be helpful for keeping leave records,and to manage attendance. Leave Policy- 1.Casual leaves-12(cannot be vailed more than 3 days) 2.Sick leaves-12(cannot be vailed more than 5 days) 3.Paid leaves-15(continous 240 days of leave applied should not be less than 3 days) 4.Maternity leaves-90 days(before delivery 30 days after delivery 45 days) Regards, Mansi Rastogi

Hi

As per factories Act,

Earned Leave:

For employees working in a manufacturing set up, on completion of 240 working days (continuous without any  break), he/she eligible during the subsequent calendar year " one day for every twenty days of work performed.

Based on this formula, most of the companies in their policy, allowed PL/EL is 15 days in a year which can be carried forward to next year, in case the same is not availed.

Sick Leave:

Normally, 7 days in a year allowed

Casual leave

Minimum of 10 days in a year allowed.

LEAVE POLICY

PRIVILLEGED LEAVE :

This has been designed to give you vacation periods for rest and relaxation and to provide time off for your personal needs. You will however be entitled to this leave @ 1.5 days per month Only on completion of 1 year of your service. This can be carried forward too.

SICK LEAVE :

Sick leave may be used when you--
*Receive medical, dental, or optical treatment
*Are incapacitated by physical or mental illness, injury, pregnancy, or childbirth;
*Would, because of exposure to a communicable disease, jeopardize the health of others by your presence on the job etc.
Sick Leave is @ 0.5 days per month

HALF-DAY :

The half day period should either be the first 4 hours of the day or the last 4 hours of the day & this will be adjusted towards Casual leave or Sick Leave if your permission is due to health reasons.

CASUAL LEAVE :

The period of such leave is limited to 6 days in a
calendar year and is granted in such a manner that the total period of absence including holidays (prefixed or suffixed) does not ordinarily exceed 8 days. Casual Leave is @ 0.5 days per month

COMP- OFF’S :

Employee can avail for the extra shift they have worked or for having worked on a declared holiday. Part shifts or working for 2 hours extra does not entitle the employee for a Compensatory Off.

LEAVE ACCUMULATION/ CARRY FORWARD :

You are entitled to carry forward / encash only 10 days of unutilized leave into the next year. In the next year you can avail 30+10=40 days of leave. If, in the subsequent year, you do not utilize all 40 days of leave, you may carry forward / encash only 15 days to the next year.

LEAVE ENCASHMENT :

You can encash 10 days (on completing 1 year,15 in the 2nd & so on) of unutilized leave in the month of January each
year. Or at the time of termination. Any excess leave to your credit will lapse. Only last drawn basic will be taken into account for encashment purpose on a pro-rata basis.

PS: A minimum of 15 days needs to be availed every completed year. And Comp- offs are not entitled for encashment or accumulations.
