Can you give some views how you conduct the company induction & orientation program using new methods.

at the moment the company i work, the progrom span for more than 4 days and senior staff from different segments do a session on their area of work. Now the progrom has become bit boring and stagnant. and most of the new comers participate in the program having worked for weeks, therefore the real orientation feeling is lost and not absorbed by many.

please give your comments with some views to develop a new program.

thanks

DD

Deepika,

This website has several files on induction/orientation. Suggest to check in to knowledge center, business forms & even search on keywords of induction & orientation.

I'm sure you'll find the requisite material.

Hi Deepika,

Though lots of material are available, our induction program is designed this way, if it could add something in your induction program formulation,

Company Overview
Documentation (Paper work form fillings, credential..)
HR Policy briefing
Plant/other group companies visit.

We cover this in a day 1 and 4, depends as per the new employee's requirement in the respective new departments.

Regards
Jyoti

Dear Deepika,

Apart from initial orientation including company briefing, team introduction it is important to make on-boarding of new joinee comfortable. This can be possible if you assign a mentor with every new joinee who care for new joinee like a friend, guide and teacher.

Also review new joinees performance for initial 6 months minium.

Regards

Naveen

Hi Deepika,

The very length of your induction makes the program sound boring. You could actually bring it down to maximum 1-2 days. In our company, a 1 day induction is given covering the various arenas in the organization. Each session lasts for about 30 min briefing including:

Director: Company, history, mission, vision, objectives, etc..
Head HR: Company policies and procedures…
Department Heads on what does each dept. handle and the process

Hope this helps..

Cheers..

Radhika
