Hello all,

Plz help me out in the following situation.

An employee is a victim of favouratism in an organisation and is denied a due promotion. He goes to the HR and conveys the same. Unfortunately the HR whom he is speaking to is also a victim of the same in the HR department. What should the HR do ??

If someone else is already promoted to fill in a position and the aggrieved employee is due, then what to do?? How to communicate with and calm this star performer employee?

Plzz help..

Regards,

Dipankar

Hi Dip,

In a situation where promotion of employee is not fair, HR has double fold responsiblity :

1. He should convince management about sensitivity involved and the loss  to the organisation due to dent on its brand value.

2. In parallel, he should also communicate to the aggrieved employee that promotion is not the only recognition org. does for a top performer. Probably, the employee can be compensated with good rating and increment. HR should also take care of such emp in recognition programmes to boost his morale.

Thxs

Rakesh
