PHR/SPHR Certification from SHRM

Dear Gyan Gurus,

Am HR Professional working with eminent IT organisation. I have done PGDHRM from Symbosis Batch '04 and now further pondering to advance my learning by applying for certification program from SHRM on PHR/SPHR .

But before concluding upon decision would like to have your feedback in regard to :

1. Whether it will augment me professional and academically .
2. Will it carry any weightage to my credentials
3. Is these certifications program really benefical in gaining the insight of knowledge..

As always looking forward for your response and am sure by your directives shall be able to decide constructively ..
