Hi, 
We are planning to frame a policy on Birhdays. Do any of your organisation have a policy on Birthdays? If yes, can you please send a copy of your policy?

On birthday the HR department sends a mail to all on the birthday of the employee and a greeting card with flowers is presented by his/her reporting manager on the cost of the company.

In my last company we used to give a greetings card beign signed by all employees and leave on birthday.

If I get more info. I will pass on that to you.

What we do at our organization is that we celebrate Individual's birthday by having a gettogether. In gettogether our GM handover Birthday card to him and then he cuts the cake. All expenses of gettogether are borne by company. Some of the companies give half day leave also. It depends upon the workculture of your organization.

Hi Nagarajan,

We celebrate each employee's brithday. I let employees know that its the employee's Birthday by wishing the employee, on behalf of everyone on the intranet. We assemble after lunch & present the person a bunch of flowers & cut a cake. This is all on the company's expense.

In my previous Company, since it was a hotel, the number of staff was very high. We used to cut the cake on the last Saturday of the month. The cake was cut by the youngest 2 employees. Also, during lunch, it was a grand lunch with executives serving the lunch instead of the chefs. For the executives, since it was a smaller number, we celebrated Birthdays on the day of the Birthday itself. A bouquet was presented and cake cut in the executive dining hall.

WHY SHOULD COMPANIES AFFORD BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR EMPLOYEES.... WHAT IS THE RETURN OF SUCH AN INVESTMENT.
