Hi Praveena S The present situation of recession in the industry can not be grounds for extension of probationary period. I understand employees confirmation is basecd on his individual Performance & terms /conditions of Employement keeping in mind Labour law as well. However, a memorandam of settlement must be done on a stamp paper of rupees 100 after mutual agreement with employees regarding salary reduction to manage cost etc. to over come recession troubles.
