I wanted to have views on what u consider as objectives of a HR function and how would you measure it ?

To my mind HRs primary role now is to be an honest broker both for the employee and the company.

For the employee

To provide him/her oppurtunities for growth and since employment cannot be guaranteed today, to keep him employable.

For the company

Attraction growth and management of talent.

Corollary: Making the company visible in the labor market viz B-Schools/Technical Campuses etc.
