Hello all CHRM'ites:

I want to know what are the top skills that organizations are looking for when hiring a candidate in this current economic trend? Let me give you an example: Like multi-tasking is one skill that is favored given its cost considerations over an employee who can handle single task at one point of time...

This is quite urgent. So guys start shooting your responses...

Thanks in advance...

Radhika

Radhika,

First let me congratulate you for having been a very active contributor to this forum, this community really needs professionals like you. thanks.

Quite an apt topic that you have raised. Considering the current economic scenario, candidates with multi-taking abilities are preferred alongwith few other attributes like cross functional exposure, let's say HR+Operations, HR+Training, HR+Legal (no doubt several employers have already initiated job requests with LLB qualification being a preferred choice)

The reason is ..

- to save cost of headcount by having cross functional exposure
- the candidate can act on behalf of two headcounts at the cost of one
- candidates having worked on a larger portfolio of HR activities to club HR+Recruitment, Training+Operations, Legal+HR etc.

Over to the other members for their turn of comments..

Thanks Dipankar...I guess sharing is the best way to increase knowledge...

As you mentioned, organizations are looking for cost reductions and retaining the best talent. So, the skills you discussed are increasing in demand. I will put them in my list.

Thanks for sharing this once again!

However, I am still awaiting responses from my other fellow professionals...

Cheers!

Radhika
