We are trying to write articles for undergrads on things that they need to know in order to be effective at life, especially work life.

In this regard, I need some kind of stuff (in the form of graphical and/or textual representation) that reflects rate of change and increasing uncertainity in areas of information, technology and things related to worklife.

Some to the themes I could think of are given below and it would be really nice if you can share with me information on them or on topics related to them.

•Acceleration in information available on the web
•Acceleration in the new types of jobs available
•Deceleration in the number of stable jobs
•Acceleration in the amount of research being done by people who are not formally trained in research (to prove the importance of research in general work life)
•Acceleration in the number of specialisations being offered at formal educational institutions.
•Rate of change in the competencies being demanded of employees
•Increasing uncertainity in organizations
•Increase in number of entrepreneurs and number of cases of outsourcing of functions
•Increase in number of specialised groups of professionals and their activities and networking
•Any other dimension which will explicitely manifest the rate of change in the envirionment

Hi, This is foccussed for undergrads...

I guess, of all the themes that you discussed, most of them revolved around "Rate of change in the competencies being demanded of employees". Key competencies for employability and economic development is the buzzword for today. Skills and competencies are playing a major role in organizations today and employers are looking forward to attract more of a combination of skills and talent than the regular education and experience. This resource pool decides all the other motives like increase/decrease in number of jobs, necessity of outsourcing, etc.
