BONUS

Hi all,

We now just crossed Diwali and disbursed huge amount as bonus, by most of the employers.

Here, so many people have wrongly understood in the recent enactment, the bonus limitation has been increased to Rs.10000/-, which I feel sorry, which is not the case, i believe.

The Govt. is seriously considering the eligibility criteria instead of present Rs.3500/- to be enhanced to Rs.10000/-, because of which a person drawing a (basic+DA) salary more than Rs.3500/- also will be eligible for the minimum bonus of Rs.2500/-, by increasing this limitation, as per Govt. policy beneficieries will be more.

So far the bonus limit of Rs.2500/- has not been increased to Rs.10000/-, instead the salary limitation has been increased to Rs.10000/- i.e. whoever drawing salary upto Rs.10000/- are also coming under eligible category.

Dear Mr. Varadharajen,

The present max limit for calculating the bonus is 3500/-.

Rs 10,000 is the eligibilty creteria (limit) for getting the benefit of bonus. Means employees getting salalry Rs 10,000 are eligilble for bonus but his bonus too will be calculated on thebasis of Rs 3500/- only

I haven't got any notification regarding exceeding limit of bonus to 10,000/- yet may u make it clear when this modification is made.

Dear friends,

Bonus eligibility ceiling & calculation ceiling has been enhanced from Rs.3500/- to Rs.10000/- & from Rs.2500/- to Rs.3500/- respectively, from the financial year 2006-07 that means employees drawing salary upto Rs.10000/- are eligible to get annual bonus calculated @ Rs.3500/- depending on the percentage arrive as A, B, C calculations under payment of bonus act. You can get a copy of the enhancement notification from labour department.
