Hi, In my experience a KPI is a 'key performance indicator' and a KRA is a 'key results area'. I have always felt that they are the same thing - they are 'measurables' that you look at to determine whether your business is successful or not. In sales that may be things like: - sales volume compared to budget - gross margin compared to budget - average sale, etc. In the hotel industry I would suggest things like customer satisfaction, room occupancy, and housekeeping measurables would be top of mind. Once you determine what areas or indicators are important to the success of the organisation, from there you try and figure out how to measure these areas, and who (individual or department) is ultimately responsible for achieving these results. People need to be held accountable to 'the numbers'. Hope this helps :) Jackie
