Re: "New Initiative - Employee Engagement"

Mehul - You can can divide activities in four major domains...e.g.sports,adventure,cultural activities,CSR....

In India we are blessed with lots of festivities which can be celebrated in office...there are lots of universal day which can be celebrated...e.g. Women's Day, Earth Day...etc

Use areas , zones which will help them to unwind...like areas where you can play carrom , dart boards..

Re: "New Initiative - Employee Engagement"

It actually depends on what kind of organization you are working in..what is its presence in India like interms of geographical location, what business it is in and what budget you are sacntioned

My company is an IT distribution giant which is located in over 76 locations in India. so to conduct fun @ work i have made a club called Cool Cats Club, which has one representative from all locations. We have our own sharepoint site which we call as HR page where we conduct various online games like polling, blogging, quiz, housie, creative writing etc.

A new initiative that i have just launched is Fun Filled Fridays, wherein every second friday of every month, we conduct some fun activity in the conference room fro half n hour. it gives people an opportunity to step out of their typical work desk and get together and also a chance to mingle around. we play games like treasure hunt, one minute games, quizes, musical chairs etc.

for more details try googling around, that is where i get my games and fun activities from

Hope this was of some help

Re: "New Initiative - Employee Engagement"

Dear Mehul,

You have not mentioned the kind of company you are working in But I will share some of the Emp. engagement activitie we organise at our company. We are 300+ plus people company serving Global clients ,a typical BPO set up.

We conduct one fun activity once in 15 days on floor and make sure that everybody participates in it the activities are as follows,

1.Carroms. 2.Chess.3.DOT Game. 4.Tambola. 5.Basket Ball( Smaller Ones).

6.Quiz Programmes. 7. Partner with out side companises to organise some free events.(Ex: ZAPAK conducts free Computer Game Competitions. etc.

Ideally I advice you to organise these games on Friday's.

Those games material also does not cost much and easy to organise.

Try out these next time if these will help you out or not.

All the best.

Shyam
