Hi Swathi,

Here is the  diffirence between performance appraisal and performance management...

Performance appraisal of employees is  necessary to understand each employee's abilities,competencies and relative merits and worth for organisation..In simple words,,Performance appraisal is to rate the employees in terms of thier performance.....where as Performance Management focuses on performance of organisation ,departments,processes to build a product or service,employees etc.........

there diffirent sites and  books where you get the methods of the topic....

You should be very clear in project. Question you are asking doesn't give impression that you are interested in empirical research.

MBA project should be based on facts and figures. You should first prepare questionnaire and send the same to target group, companies and HR

In simple terms Performance Appraisal is a part of Performance Management System in order to evaluate the overall performance of the organisation, group & individual against the desired performance.

swati,

MBA  internship project should be on fact and figure. never try to copy from others. otherwise it will give a bad effect and at the time of viva you will not be able to answer the questions and then you will be in trap. for doing a project, choose a good industry where hr practices are used. then go there and meet to hr persons and then develop a questionnaire, take the interviews at different level of management and workers, analyze the data and make the result. it is a right way to do a internship project
