Extensive reading, using the new words learned, in conversations and if possible in your writing, hold the key to improving your vocabulary. Make liberal use of dictionaries and thesaurus and ask more knowledgeable people about the exact use of new words.

A tip which can reap very good results over a period of time is to subscribe to learn a word a day , with accurate pronounciation and its uasge in sentence. It really helps to memorise and build good vocabulary this way .

One can improve his vocabulary by many ways i.e. reading newspapers,magazines, listening to english news channels,movies & making chain of similar words like again, brain, bargain, drain, main, train, maintain etc. Moreover, in order to improve the pronunciation one should speak in front of the mirror which will incresse the confidence to speak in public or group discussions.

I know that reading does improve the vocabulary. But unless one practices speaking it out loud, everything is lost. It is therefore necessary to atleast make an attempt while speaking with family, friends and acquaintances It helps in gaining confidence and also improves the vocabulary and the speech.

Speaking english with family members and friends sometimes not possible as people from low standard does not have sometimes education family or local friend circle but yes they must have to communicate with their school, college mates or collegues in office. Always read English newspaper, once in a day with loud so that you can hear your own voice and coorect the pronounciation.

In this way i thing one can improve vocabulary.
