Hello Ms Prerna, I reckon you are contempating initiating a Suggestion Scheme for your organization. Your Company, since it is into manufacturng, must be a factory within the meaning of Factories Ac, 1948. Incidently, Form 27 Annual Returns under Factories Act, 1948 also talks about Suggestion Scheme. To be able to initiate Suggestion Scheme, I feel you should form a cross functional task force within your organization and brain storm on the objective of the Scheme. Based on the brain storming, you will jointly need to devise a Suggestion scheme which will dwell upon various details such as Objective, Scope, Applicability, Procedure, Administration(including Evaulation, pre-implementation, post implementation) and also the award to the suggestor. Please make sure that Suggestion Scheme is simple to understand and administer and it is given wide publicity in the organization. Efforts should be made to ensure that more and more employees in the organization are encouraged and motivated to come out with suggestions. As part of incentive, an employee giving just a suggestion may be given a small gift of article. Suggestion Award can be given to an individual only after it is implemented and implementation must be evaulated thoroughly by the evaulation committee. Suggestion Scheme award may be qualititative or quantitative in nature. In case a suggestion helps improve a particular process then it would be termed as Qualitative Award and where suggestion results in substantial savings, then it could be termed a Quantitative Suggestion, award for which will be certainly greater than Qualititative Suggestion.
