Hi friends,

Please help me in finding a solution for late attendance problem. In my company, i would like to bring in some discipline in signing in, at the start of the day. Please let me know if you can suggest any remedy for this late attendance. Especially for people in Senior level (Managerial level), because i am at the entry level of my career. So i want to know how to tackle such problems.

Regards,

Lakshman

Dear Mr. Lakshman,

Following methods can be adopted to restrict late attendance :

1). There should be a message from the Top Management informing all employees that Punctuality & Time Management are part of their Organization Culture.
2). All employees including Top Management should be exemplar in this aspect.
3). Half day leave can be deducted for every 3 Late Comings.
4). Half day leave can be deducted for every one early leaving.
5). It has to be highlighted during Training Sessions.
6). Counselling is always a better tool.
7). Display messages / articles pertaining to Time Management & Punctuality more frequently in order to eductae all the employees. It will also help us in making all the employees to realize the importance.

Hope this helps :-)

In one of my previous organization, this was the case where employee had very lethargic attitude for office timing.

Automatic swipe in and swipe out reader can help to regularise the attendance and irrespective of position all employee has to do swipe in and swipe out.

Putting an attendance register for late comer can help but sometime the employee at the higher position just ignored all such initiatives.

Hi Lakshman

Besides these suggestions ,you can also introduce :
1).Timely attandance bonus system.
2). Add timely attandance as one of the CRITERIA in appraisal system with more weightage.
3). Display  attandance weekly/monthly dept. wise .
4).Display Most Timely Attandance Employee for the Moth on notice board.

These all will help to transform Behavioural changes towards being  positive and timely being present in office.

HI,

You can give  arrival time flexibilty of 1 hr  to the departments head but his team should reach on time becasue sr members/deptt head  are resposiblle for the output of his team irrespective of the amount of time they spend in the office They should ensure that work should not hamper because of their late comings.

Thanks,

Ashish
