I have a query from one of my juniors...

She is a BSc Chemistry & MSc Chemistry, from Mumbai University. Currently working with a leading Process consulting firm as a Business Development Manager in Mumbai. 

She would like to know more about Retail Management,

1. What is the duration of the course & Approx fee structure.
2. Which colleges offer it in Mumbai.
3. Can we do it part time as I cannot afford to do it full time.
4. Would a part time course carry any weightage in the industry.
5. After completion of the course can I shift my career in a retail industry.

Course duration tends to be from two years to One year if its Part time.

You have MICA offering such courses on full time.

Part time would be always an add until you are going to good institution. But since you are working look for a good part time course that offers you on hand field experience in case that would help you to look at the reality.

As such in retail theres a dearth in resources for people so they are taking from various streams and training them accordingly. As there is no particular course recommended and the courses which are offered are at very nascent stage. So you should not worry about shifting your career if you are really looking to make a career in that field.

Just even try applying to any retail major with your present profile you might be getting through as u have BDM experience.
