Dear Professionals,
I came across this case study at an egroup. Thought of sharing this with you.
One on my close friend called me yesterday and told me about how his personal value system is creating barrier in his job and likely to effect his career.
The situation is like:
He is a 2005 MBA (Dual: Marketing and HR) from a B-Class institute in UP. He is working with a renouned security company since after his MBA . His is working as relationship manager (I guess most of the members must be aware about the job profile of RM).
Just to give an idea the job of RM consists of acquision of clients and making them to invest in the stock market and generating revenue for the organization. Overall life of a RM depends upon the business (brokrage) he produces from his clients.
To add more: He has struggled initially for about one year in producing business. But since last one year he is among the top performer in his team.He is giving huge business to the organization and also earned handsome incentives.
But from last 4-5 months (dispite of sensex is approaching sky) all his major clients (including some of his friends) are loosing huge amount of money but the company is making money. There are miscellaneous reasons of their loss. But being the relationship manager now he thinks that he is responsible for all the loss.
He strongly beleives in his value system that never allows him to cause any harm/loss (physical/mental/financial) to any one around.
After a few absurd discussions with his clients apparently he resigned his job last month.
Kindly suggest him the solution??
1. Should he join the same organization again? (he still has that option) 2. Should he shift into other industry like banking and insurance? 3. Should/Can he switch into HR???
Thanks and regards, Sangeeta |
