Re-joining an Ex-Employer

Hello!

Here is a situation:

I was a senior executive in the an organization that I left few months back on personal grounds. My appraisal was pending in the month I left; but since I was in my notice period it did not take place. After that I did not join any where. Now, my ex-manager asked me if I can rejoin them. In my absence, the appraisal system has changes by which my next appraisal can happen only after 6 months. So, can I ask for a salary higher than my previous one? Is it right? Or should I join with the same salary and wait for the appraisal?

Some body kindly guide me!! Its very very urgent!!

Re: Re-joining an Ex-Employer

Dear all,

In my opinion, if the company is interested in calling you back, they should be taking you back at a higher salary. If you have gone back to the company and asked them for a job - you will need to go back at your old salary.

I invite comments from the forum members on this.

Re: Re-joining an Ex-Employer

You should join the company. As regards the salary, do not negotiate. What is important is the job satisfaction and the recognition.....money will automatically be there...
