Dear All,
 
I have seen and heard from fellow HR professionals across the Globe that lot of Industries get closed down due to unionism/ Labour trouble. It's interesting to know the fate of the employees of these organisations. I hve personlly seen employees from the closed down units go for vegetble vending, driving autos or goig for small jobs. I request fellow HR professioals across the globe to share their experience / case studies on the employees of closed down Industrial units.

 Sad but True,

Even more sad that inspite of thousands of examples which are well known to the unionoised labour also, what fate their fellow men had attained & what awaits them.

It will not be out of context to mention here that on the one hand where the stands of unionised labours are mostly achieving personal benefits of few of them, on the other hand the failure to attain Industrial Peace & Harmony is attributed to Management - HR Dept. 

It's time now to understand that the Working Class is different from the working class some 15 - 16 years back. They are more educated & have more exposure to business results. They can now think in the terms of Cost .

They need respect & expect to be treated as TEAM MEMBERS - and not just as someone who visits work place to execute orders without application of mind.

With increased Employee Engagement & fair sharing of the information on results / Performance of the Organisation the arriving to a settlement becomes smooth & industrial peace & growth can be maintained.
