Dear all,

The outcome of Performance Appraisal is good news for some one & it demotivates to others.

Would appreciate if you could suggest the right way of declaring the salary increment of the employees so that it does not dishearten those who do not get the same.

It is sometimes difficult to deliver increase of some employees' salaries,when others don't get the rise.

- Simply know how to communicate:
- One way is to identify what the others who do not get the rise like entertainment, gifts, fashion, hobbies)
- Then make some donations/gifts/verbal promise of increase when
performance will improve
- Communicate the increase of others' salaries, without delivering gifts...or something tangible

This way will give the impression to everyone that they are equally treated.

Do the follow-up thru Encouraging words....

TO SOLVE THIS ON A PERMANENT BASIS,WORK OUT A POLICY FOR THAT MATTER,AND MAKE IT KNOWN.

Hi,

When will people learn to take the responsibility of their actions?
 
Tell me when you were in school and got the report card, did every one get the same grade? the result day was good for some one and not so good for some.
 
Did the school strategise to share report cards with students who flunk or did not do well, so that they dont get demotivated? No, they do not, because through out the year you are told where you are and the assessment method is known to all and is fair and rational.
 
Well if your assessment method is fair and rational, and your appraisers  have faith in your system you need not worry.
 
My Basic Funda is " If You meet expectations, you are getting a salary for it, if you exceed expectations you are getting rewarded for it" One of the ways to reward is increase in salary.
