Dear Friends,

I am in the process of drafting a Car Policy for my organisation and hence request all my learned colleagues to share policy's that you have on similar lines in your organisation. I would appreciate if you can share your practices on the following points:

- Do you offer a car to certain levels of staff, and if yes, what is the arrangement - company owned car/ leased car etc.... Is it part of an employees Compensation package
- If no car, not even leased, do you offer transportation allowance
- If no company owned car, are all cars (and drivers) on a lease arrangement
- if inevitable for you to own a company car, do have a clear statement in the policy on conditions for changing the car, maintaining the car, allowance,

Dear All,

 We are also planning to provide car facility to our senior employees (DGM and above) can anyone provide me sample policy doc. And also request to clarify certain points:-

1. Procurement of car ( comoany name or individual name, maintenance of car, petrol allowance, recovery of car incase employees leave or handover car to employees in certain duration if he remain with company) 

I request you to share the document pls.

Guys

 

Car policy is meant for some selected senior employees.

 

1. Its a facility extended to employees who completed atleast 2 years of continous service with the company or at the special discretion of the top management.

2  Car Lease is facility wherein a portion of the annual CTC is deducted from the employee ( usually the amount valueis decided by the employee ) at the beginning of the financial year - this helps employees get TAX BENEFIT .

3 Procurement of cars can be negotiated with any BANKS or Leasing firms like GE LEASING, these firms procure cars and in turn extend them to the employees till the lease amount is paid in full by the employees ( usually 3 to 5 years ). Once the lease amount is paid in full the ownership of the car is transffered to the employee.

4  Companies can also extend the facility to employees using car lease facility - to get tax benefit on their chaufers salary and monthly maintanence chargers of the car.
