Dear gkv,

HR is a very imp funtion of any org. People have misunderstandings abt it that it is a dept which process salaries only, but when you actually see to it, it has lots of processes in it.

For eg.

1. The hr dept prepares the rules and regulations for company which are in line with the mission and vision of the co.

2. Salary grades

3. Job descriptions- which in turn will help the co managers hire the right employees.
helping the mgrs to find the right kind of ppl through different recruitment sources.

4. timely processing salries-thus in turn paying everyone on time.

5. maintaing disipline.

6. working on employee engagement programs

7. giving a comfort to employees that there is someone to listen their problems if there managers create problems or if there is anything else.

hope this will give u some idea.

1. collect and consolidate the CVs of the all the employees who are on company's role and thereby on catogories wise. these personnel will be defined as 'employees'

2. prepare personal files for all employees which containes all details about thme starting from CV,supporting docs, photos, personal details, address for communication, address in case any emergency etc.

3. if your industry is covered under ESI ,PF( i hope u do) the copies of the declarstion forms to be filed in the relevant personal files.

4. prepare all statutory registers and update them.

5. verify whether all licenses viz, factory, pollution controlboard, Inspector of factories in case u employ contract workforce, weight and measures, building approval from chief inspector of factories, municpal taxes, and if u store more than 1000 litres of diesel for generator use the lincese reg. etc

6. prepapre a cosolidation list of employees departmentwise and gradewise.

7. have a list of contact numbers of all dept heads and shift incharge if have any.

8. introduce id cards for all employees along with proximity cards for electronic attendance recording systems Bimatrix is not advisable.

9. prepare rules and regulations otherwise known as standing orders and place it as a priority and mandatory. This doc should contain the entire DOs and DONTs and it should be very exhaustive and transperant and without any ambiquity. Pl note that a word should carry only one meaning and avoid using words with different interpretation. Use definitons wherever it is possible. Donot forget to introduce Non Disclosure agreement if it is warranted.

10. prepare a exclusive list of salary payable and app cost to the co per month.

11. in anticipation prepare the budget for your dept.

12. prepare a MIS report.
