Dear All,

 
I am about to join an organization who has asked me to sign a non-competition and non-solicitation contract for a period of 12 months after termination of employment terms.
 
I'm curious to know what are the legalities around this  and how is it effectuated in practice. Additionally, what could be the consequences if there is breach of such terms.
