Hello colleagues,

Is there any difference between down-sizing, right-sizing and lay-off? Or are these just situation-specific jargons suitablly used?

I agee with your query cum half answer that these are jargons created to time  and situation specific acivities.  Ultimate goal in this is to remove extra manpower, extra-fab.  Hoewver, in the eyes of law lay off is the basic word for those eligible employees enjoying protection under Indian Industrial Disputes Act.
