I have been given a beautiful assignment on  “Innovative HR strategies” as a part of my course.  E.g. Birthday e-cards sent to employees, a paid  leave for each individual’s birthday, parking space  to the CEO’s car for the best performer of the  month, paid dinner for individual’s anniversary etc. 

 These are some of such strategies that HR is coming  up with in various companies.  
And I think the invaluable experience that the group  offers can be of great help to provide inputs for  the assignment. Once the report is ready, I intend  to share the whole thing with the group so that all  of us can take cues from strategies like such and  help take the HR fraternity to commanding heights.

In all fairness, I agree with you. Employees are not machines. At the end of the day they also want to be treated as individulas and humans apart from being EMPLOYEES.

We in our company are following :-

- a paid leave oncept for employees. They can choose between their B'Day and anniversary date.

- I also make it apoint to send an e-card on such occasions to the concerned employees and also to the newly weds. Apart from that we also give Archies Cards on their B'day signed by all the employees and senior management. a notice is also put in the starting of the month and wishing them whose B'days fall in that particular month. Last friday of the month in second half, for half an hour we organise a B'day Bash Party

- in which gifts are given, cake is cut and all have FUN.

- We also organise two Outdoor Gettogether in a year for all the employees where they can also bring in their family members.
