Dear People,

In your experience what do you think ought to be the correct definition of HRD of the below :

1)HRD means treating human beings as an input in the develop-ment process, but not as its beneficiaries.
2)HRD is focussing on minimum re-quirements of human beings ( kinda matching
employee aspirations with employer aspirations), but not on their choices.
3)HRD is looking at people as recipients, but not as active participants & choosers of the processes that shape their lives.
4) any other

What is your take on the above ?

Dear tara,

HRD could be a concoction of the first two alternatives but we must also keep the essence of HRD alive( the Three Cs).........

1. to build COMMITMENT among the employees
2. to create and help grow the right CULTURE for the organization
3. to develop COMPETENCIES

Hope this helps
