Benchmarking HR Processes

Hi All

Would anyone have a process map on how to go about Benchmarking core HR processes within specific industries? I'm looking to conduct a survey (based on secondary data) sometime in the near future. It would help if I knew the sequential order of events.

Regards

Priyanka

Re: Benchmarking HR Processes

Hi priyanka,

Being a student I would not be appropriate but in I have done the benchmarking of Appointment letters of IT industry. I would tell you how I went through the whole process. I hope that gives you some clue.

1. We collected the appointment letters of top IT companies.
2. Then we classified the data of the appointment letters in different heads.
3. Then we compared the data with our company's appointment letter.
4. Comapred the strong and weak points of our company vis-a-vis other companies.
5. Analysed the data and tried to improve our appointment letter compared with top IT companies.
6. Made changes as per the comparison wherever needed.
7. Finally, came with a new appointment letter which was benchmarked with the top guys in the industry.

I know this would not be the standard process for all areas of HR. Pls let me know if this helps you in any ways. Waiting for your reply.

Warm Regards

Re: Benchmarking HR Processes

Hi Priyanka,

Its mandatory what kind of Industry you are and what is focussed upon for set the benchmark.

I would like to sugget the following things before you set the benchmark

1) Set the KRA and KPI what is to be achieved

2) Identify the best company against which you want to achieve the same.

3) Study the the industry and its core HR practices

4) Evaluate the same and find out feasibility for its implementation

6)Implement and measure the same

Hope it will help you to conduct the benchmarking process for your Industry.

Regards
