Can some one shift from Call center to HR ?

Hello To All,

I have almost 4 years of experience in customer service especially in Call center. I want to shift my career path from call center to Human Recourse. I do not have any practical experience in HR, but do a lot of understanding about the job profile through reading. I have a formal diploma in HR.

I want to know from all the experts in HR, tht is it possible for me to switch my area at this stage and if I can shift then from where will i have to start. If anyone can help to also to get a offer at HR at Delhi, India, that will be very helpful.

I really like the articles posted here, and the way everyone is keen to help each other. Keep it up guys.

Rgds.

Being in customer service i think u would have develop the coordination skills & in HR you require this skill at the highest bz u have to manage the employee as well as the company, but i think u should start with initial step of HR for being professional in it.

After all our career is in our hand to shape it.

Hi Nagarajan,

If you have passion for something... then you will definitely get it.  If HR is your passion....then definitely.....It is POSSIBLE.  TRY TRY TRY...... you will get it.

You may have to face a lot of rejections but if you set a goal and if you WANT it... then you will get it......  As told by our friends you should be prepared to compromise on your salary.  I have worked 5 years in ITES and then moved to HR... I got only 50% salary of what i was getting in ITES.   But i got 100% job satisfaction.

Do MBA in HR..  read a lot of articles. Keep your knowledge up to date.   Keep applying to all the openings you find in HR. Get into recruiting firms and move towards your passion.......... Forums like CHRM will help you in upgrading your knowledge.

All the Best. Don't give up....
