Dear Colleagues,

Does anyone of you worked with the area of Employer Brand Awareness?

Let us discuss and share some thoughts.

My Company is very well-known by our products (brands) but we are completely unknown as an employer. Due to some regulatory restrictions we can not promote our products as a part of our employer image.

This year I've decided to increase our Company's brand awareness and our employer image. Our first step was to make a marketing research on what do potential candidates know about our Company.

Next steps I see participation in different Career Days, work with students, participation in different "best employer" ratings. Can you advice any other actions that could help the Company to promote herself as an Employer?

You pose an interesting question. Especially in light of the "regulatory restrictions" you refer to. One suggestion that I have is employee testimonials. Have current or past employees write about their experiences with your company. Use their comments in your branding materials, website and other modes of communication. In other words, let your employees tell your story.

My suggestion goes like........

Make your intention as your organizational objective : "The Best Company to Work With". Formulate and amend all relevant HR policies around this objective.

Make sure your employees add value to your organization by proper & relevant training and if required frequent workshop which do not annoy them but benefit them in the way your employees think acceptable.

Introduce a unique & distinct dressing code that best suits your organizational culture by which your employees will stand distinct among public.

Ensure your employees do not buy essential commodities by paying cash, instead you may issue cash coupons by striking a deal with departmental stores. (While they stand in queue near cash counter, they will be noticed by at least one person who could probably turn out to be your prospective employee).

I am not familiar with the accommodation facilities in your country. A nice accommodation / housing arrangements in a unique way would do the trick.

If you provide Vehicles to your employees, please make sure you give the best vehicle to your employees and have the words of following nature imprinted on the body of the car :" I am proud of what I am - <Your Company Name>" or " <Your Company Name> belongs to us".

Conduct some training sessions frequently and advertise them in local news papers.

Send your employees to further study as part time and publish their result / achievement in as many medium as possible.

You can even sponsor your employee's marriage or the marriage of son / daughter / sister marriage and make it as a grand function / memorable event and make sure you take advantage of the ceremony.

There are lot we can do to promote Employer Brand Awareness. Pls send your comment.

One of the best option that companies use nowadays community service as one of the tool.

Doing a common program for the community for Eg. Memory Program for the children in the community at a common place will act as a brand building. children would be accompanied by parents, a small video / clip about the organization would be a excellent toll for marketing.
