Absenteism Benchmark

I request all members to share about the benchmark on Absenteeism percentage in IT services industry.

Dear  friends,

Generally we see absenteeism would be ranging from 20-30% in certain industries due to various reasons.  However, when you plan for manpower requirements generally it would be taken at 5-6% and accordingly the manpower plan is prepared.  HR role is to keep this benchmark absenteeism at this level by adopting various practices such as counseling of chronic absentees, initiating  necessary disciplinary action to keep this absenteeism % within the limits.

Earlier post was pertaining to attrition-

However absenteeism percentage should be 5% as benchmark for IT industries.
