Re: Appraisals during Maternity Leave
Appraisal should be conducted for the employee. She is on ML which is as per prevailing laws of our country. Ideally her performance should be reviewed taking the period she has worked. A policy incorporating this clause along with a minimum period of work( including holidays, week offs, approved leaves) say 7-8 months,in a year will be helpful in addressing these issues. An employee being ignored just for ML is a bad practice....HR should be steadfast on this. Also it might act as a dissatsfaction trigger in other female employees as well. These small but important decisions not only motivates people, but also does a lot about the image of the corporation and its practices. Regards Deepankar
